The relevance of research

Most of the cargo is transported by sea all over the world. This is especially true for bulk cargoes such as crude oil, oil products, liquefied gas and chemical products in bulk. Containers occupy the second place in terms of the volume of transportation by sea. Container ships have displaced multipurpose ships from the market, as any cargo can be placed in a standard 20- or 40-foot container. At the same time, the processing time of such vessels has been reduced tenfold due to the unification of the transport system of the whole world in relation to container transportation. A significant role is played by the mechanization and information support of transport processes.

Research excerpt

Part 1. Overview of the Indian market for shipping services
1.1. Definition and Characteristics of the Indian Shipping Services Market
Maritime transport is a type of water transport. Maritime transport includes any vessel capable of moving on the water surface (seas, oceans and adjacent water areas), as well as simply being afloat and performing certain functions related to the transportation, transshipment, storage, processing of various cargoes; transportation and passenger service.
Also, specialized ships that are designed to carry one or more types of cargo include car carriers, refrigerated ships, livestock carriers, heavy carriers, bulk carriers (bulk carriers), lighter carriers, towing, etc.
Depending on the tasks and type of cargo, ships have the appropriate characteristics that reflect their autonomy, carrying capacity, loading and unloading methods, speed data; ability to withstand weather conditions, restrictions on the navigation area, maintain temperature and atmospheric regimes of cargo holds.
